Gyeong-Andang is a cafe that quietly blends traditional Korean charm with a calm, contemplative ambiance. Nestled in a relatively quiet backstreet of Jangan-dong, Suwon, it centers around a hanok-style yard, offering both indoor and outdoor seating that invites visitors to slow down and soak in its peaceful vibe. The presence of separate floor-seating rooms hints at a space meant not just for grabbing a quick drink but for lingering over tea in a relaxed, intimate setting.

This spot appeals to those who appreciate a gentle balance between old and new — the serene hanok architecture paired with a menu focused on comforting, culturally rooted flavors like matcha, jujube tea, and traditional rice cake-based desserts such as injeolmi. Despite a somewhat limited menu selection, the offerings bring a thoughtful Korean twist, including interesting takes like dried persimmon and citrus roll desserts, as well as coffee drinks infused with local ingredients.

Visitors tend to come for quiet moments — perhaps in mid-mornings or tranquil afternoons when the neighborhood’s usual bustle softens, making it a fitting retreat for solo drinkers, friends catching up, or anyone looking to experience Korean tea culture beyond the usual café scene. The pricing is on the higher side, reflecting the calm environment and specialized menu, so it's a place where you probably want to pause long enough to justify the expense.

The staff's warmth and subtle hospitality enrich the experience, making patrons feel welcome without distracting from the reflective atmosphere. If you're drawn to understated Korean aesthetics and prefer a quiet café where you can connect with traditional tastes in a calm hanok setting, Gyeong-Andang provides a distinct, authentic pace in the heart of Suwon.

Absolutely beautiful setting and ambiance to the joy of lovely hanok yard vibe in a relatively noise-free backstreet. The drinks are quite expensive to be honest but it’s probably worth it for the time and chill you’ll be able to pull out while here.

Really lovely teahouse with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are separate rooms where you can sit on the floor and relax while sipping tea. The only downside is the limited selection of teas and desserts, and the matcha was a bit weak.

the place is cute and the vibe is SUPERB! cozy little cafe tucked in an alleyway. the menu is quite limited though, no modern cake available and the matcha drink is quite expensive.

Had tea and mochi there. Tea wise was pretty ok. Had the mugwort tea. Mochi wise ok as well What really stood out was the atmosphere and music. Was seated out with the small patio with the kontatsu while listening to the music. Before I knew it I fell asleep lols ~~ Nice place to relax and spend the afternoon

Fantastic ambiance, small menu. I ordered the iced omija tea, which was served on a mother-of-pearl tray. The cozy atmosphere and great playlist waere worth every cent. Good for singles, couples, or small groups.
